The invention relates to a process of obtaining grained plaster or binder from plaster moulds resulting from the ceramics industry, which is characterised in that the outworn and damaged moulds are crushed to a granulation of 25...30 mm or 10...20 mm, dried by heat treatment in counter-current by air heated, in continuous working conditions, at 190 C for grains of 25...30 mm, and at 160 C for grains of 10...20 mm, for 2.5 h in rotatory drums with a length/diameter ratio of 20:1, thereafter the plaster resulting from the heat treatment is either grained at a dimension of about 3.5 mm, or is ground at a fineness under 0.2 mm to obtain the binder.
