The method for diagnosing the functional insufficiency of the anterior abdominal wall in the patients with the postoperative ventral hernias provides for sizing the hernial portae concurrently with the planimetry of the area of the anterior abdominal wall and the hernial portae and the calculation of the ratio between these areas.
