The invention relates to cooling appliances for dust-gas mix coming to slag chamber from open-hearth furnace. In the inlet opening to slag chamber in the wall of vertical channel water sprinklers are placed. Water sprinklers are centrifugal, at that the nozzles of those are directed downwards at angle 50-60 degrees to the axis of vertical channel. Ratio of the area of nozzle opening to the area of tangent channels of each sprinkler is 0.25-0.35. The invention promotes uniform cooling of dust-gas mix, this excludes dust caking in slag chamber.
