Generator has a mechanical adjustable length movement transmitter converting vertical movements of the floating body to rotary movements of the generator rotor (10). The generator is enclosed in a housing (6) anchored to the sea bed and the rotor is outside the stator and connected to a turning body coupled to the movement transmission means. Spring (15) exerts a torsional force on the rotor and base plate (8) rests on the seabed. The stator winding is connected via an inverter to a rectifier inside the housing, a freewheel converts oscillating rotary movement to unidirectional rotary movement.
