The wave power unit has a floating body (10) and a linear generator (20) with a stator (21) and a rotor (22). The stator and the rotor are accommodated by the floating body. The floating body has a water line (13), and the rotor of the linear generator is movable parallel to the water line of the floating body. An independent claim is also included for a wave power plant with a lifting body.
