An apparatus for use in surgery inside the human retina using separation fluids internal limiting membrane, comprising: - a micro hollow cannula having a distal end (12), a proximal end (18), a central longitudinal axis, and a distal tip (14), called microcannula having a shape at its distal tip adapted to fit tangentially to the surface of the retina near the macula when inserted through an entry site in the balloon eye, at the level of the pars plana, and adapted to discharge a fluid substance from the distal tip of the microcannula to effect removal of the internal limiting membrane of the retina at or near the macula layer neural retina; - wherein said microcannula has an outer diameter of approximately 800 microns at its proximal end (18), and an outer diameter of about 100 microns at its distal end (12), and is therefore the suficientementemicroscópico as not substantially damage the neural retina when introduced under said inner limiting membrane, - wherein said distal end (12) of said microcannula has a continuous curvature designed to conform tangentially to the surface of the retina near the macula cuandose inserted through the entry site eyeball in the pars plana. - wherein said tip (14) of said microcannula is beveled and sharpened to allow optimal penetration of the internal limiting membrane and optical occlusion of the lumen by the underlying internal limiting membrane with minimal insertion, and - wherein the distal end of said tip (14) is located on the outer curve of said microcannula having the largest radius.
