The window unit of the inventioncomprises four peripheral channelmembers linked with comer membersto form a window frame. Twoglass panels are spaced by this frameto form an inner chamber, the venetianblind structure of the invention beinglocated completely therein. Thevenetian blind structure comprises aplurality of horizontal slats pivotallysupported at both their extremities andeach having an integral toothed wheelengaging a complementary rack on anactuator bar, the latter positioned adjacentto a side peripheral channel memberand being free to move upwards ordownwards along it. This upward ordownward movement imparts a pivotingmovement to the slats. The venetianblind structure further comprisesa support channel member supportinga reversible electrical motor having adriving shaft. This shaft is alignedto engage properly the actuator bar. When the driving shaft rotates, it impartsa linear upward or downwardmovement to the actuator bar, thus pivotingthe slats consequently. The alignmentof the shaftis done by means of an L-shaped plate bored and threadinglyengaged by an alignement sleeve, the latter being coaxiallyengaged by the driving shaft. This alignment of the shaft prevents the partsof the venetian blind structure from moving in undesireddirections, relative to one another, and therefore reduces the chances ofbreaking these parts.
