The invention relates to a GEDAP method (Genotyping Based on Diagnostic Amplification Products) for detecting and/or preventing genotyping errors from amplification products of a polymorphic locus. The method is based on the joint analysis of homoduplexes and additional diagnostic products (PAD) generated from the amplification of the alleles of a polymorphic locus. The method is highly effective in detecting and/or preventing genotyping errors due to total or partial non-amplification occurring during the amplification process, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
