The invention relates to a sorting device for goods to be transported especially in a suspended manner, especially items of clothing hanging on coat hangers (10). Said sorting device comprises a sorting transport path (14) which can be supplied with the goods to be transported at at least one feeding station (30, 32), and along which the goods to be transported can be transported on driven running elements, for example individual hanger carriers (12), in a transport direction. A plurality of separating branches (24) fork off from the sorting transport path (14), on which the goods to be transported by the sorting transport path (14) can be selectively separated by means of separating means. According to the invention, the sorting transport path (14) is embodied as a continuous circumferential path, whereby the separating branches (24) are grouped together into at least two separating banks (26, 28) distributed along said circumferential path (14), between which a feeding station (30, 32) is respectively provided.
