PURPOSE: Provided is an enzyme-protective and antioxidative composition which protects the cells from being damaged by oxidation, and inhibits the aging caused by the continual accumulation of radicals. CONSTITUTION: A composition comprises genistein represented by the formula 1, and genistin as a derivative thereof. The genistein or genistin is derived from cherry leaves. The genistein or genistin inhibits the generation or activation of nitrotyrosine by glutathione reductase due to peroxynitrite.
