PURPOSE: Provided is an electrode for a fuel cell by reducing average surface roughness on boundary between a catalyst layer and a gas-diffusion layer in order to enhance efficiency for using the catalyst layer and in turn, cell performance such as cell potential. CONSTITUTION: The electrode for a fuel cell comprises an electrolyte film, and a cell consisting of anode having the catalyst layer and the gas-diffusion layer(32) laminated together and further having the catalyst layer(31) arranged on one side of the electrolyte film, and, cathode having the catalyst layer and the gas-diffusion layer laminated together and further having the catalyst layer on the other side of the electrolyte film. The fuel cell further has a first plate passing gas through the anode and a second plate passing through the cathode, both plates arranged opposite to the gas-diffusion layers.
