PURPOSE: A driving chain gear for stepless speed change and a stepless speed change method is provided to perform stepless speed change according to running condition by varying the rotary radius of the driving chain gear according to the force applied to a driving pedal. CONSTITUTION: A driving chain gear for stepless speed change is composed of a ring-shaped gear member(112) having gears coupled to a driving chain, a pedal mounting member(116) having a through hole to which driving pedals(100) are mounted, an elastic member(114) integrated with the gear member and the pedal mounting member, and first and second protective covers(117a,117b) disposed at both sides of the elastic member. Mounting holes(118) are formed at the center of the protective covers. A plurality of coupling holes(119) are formed around the protective covers to couple protective covers.
