FRAMEWORK ENABLING INTEGRATION OF ANTI-SPAM TECHNOLOGIES FOR FILTERING UNDESIRABLE E-MAILS

PURPOSE: A framework enabling integration of anti-spam technologies for filtering undesirable e-mails is provided to detect/process spam and virus at an edge of a network border by using diverse present and future anti-spam technologies. CONSTITUTION: An SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) stack(200) is operated in an IIS(Internet Information Server)(202) on a server(204). The IIS communicates with other exchange server(206) or SMTP server on the Internet through the SMTP, and includes a database(208) for storing inputted/output messages. If an SMTP protocol for the input message is connected, the framework(210) receives the message. The framework intercepts/sends the message to filters(212). The filters parse the message and determine/send a trust level for the spam to the framework. The framework determines to start other filter or action(214).
