PURPOSE: Provided is a continuous method for preparing an impact resistant styrene-based resin having excellent rigidity, environmental stress crack resistance, extrusion processability and vacuum moldability. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing an impact resistant styrene-based resin comprises the steps of: (1) forming a mixed solution containing a butadiene-based rubbery polymer and a styrene monomer; (2) adding a molecular weight modifier to the mixed solution and initiating graft copolymerization; and (3) further introducing a styrene monomer and polybutene or polyorganosiloxane after the mixed solution obtained from step (2) experiences a phase transition and carrying out graft copolymerization.
