PURPOSE: A method of compensating for a picture quality of a camera combined-type mobile communication terminal is provided to compensate for luminance components of an image photographed by a camera combined with a mobile communication terminal, and to control brightness of the image, thereby improving a picture quality even though the image is photographed in a dark place. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal photographs a subject to be pictured. The terminal separates a photographed image into luminance components and color components. The terminal compensates for the separated luminance components with high luminance components. The terminal combines the compensated luminance components with the color components, and restores into an original image signal type. The terminal stores the restored image signal in a memory.
