PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing allylic alcohol derivatives useful for intermediates in various organic synthesis processes, from inexpensive starting materials by a simple process with high yield and selectivity. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing an allylic alcohol derivative represented by the following formula (II) comprises the steps of: preparing a Grignard reagent from an allylic halide derivative represented by the following formula (I) and magnesium; and reacting the Grignard reagent prepared from the preceding step with formaldehyde so as to increase the number of carbon atoms and to perform alcoholization. In formulae (I) and (II), R is an alkyl group, each of R1, R2 and R3 is H, an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group, and X is Cl, Br or I.
