TAPE FEEDER FOR COMPONENT MOUNTER CAPABLE OF TRANSFERRING CARRIER TAPE THROUGH BALL CONTACT LINEAR MOTION OF COMPONENTS

PURPOSE: A tape feeder is provided to achieve improved operating reliability of device by accurately transferring a carrier tape through the ball contact linear motion of components. CONSTITUTION: A tape feeder comprises a tape transfer unit(200) for transferring a carrier tape at a predetermined pitch to the front of a body mounted on a component mounter; a gate unit(300) for supporting the carrier tape; a cover vinyl discharge unit having a first discharge gear and a second discharge gear for discharging a cover vinyl stripped off from the carrier tape; and a driving unit for simultaneously driving the tape transfer unit and one of the discharge gears. The tape transfer unit includes a cam slider(210) having a concave cam section(220) and a convex cam section(230); a front locator(240) and a rear locator which alternately contact the concave cam section and the convex cam section by the linear motion of the cam slider; pin holders(295) fixed on the tops of the front locator and the rear locator, respectively; front lock pins(242a,242b) and rear lock pins(252a,252b) inserted to the pin holders; a front see-saw link(290) and a rear see-saw link(291) assembled by a shaft pin(296) such that the front and rear see-saw links are rotatable; a fixed rail for guiding the front locator in a vertical direction, and which is mounted on the body; a movable rail for guiding the rear locator in a vertical direction, and which is connected to the cam slider such that the movable rail is movable in a horizontal direction by the transfer pitch of the carrier tape in a horizontal rail section(262) of the fixed rail; and a pitch adjustment member(600) mounted on the body such that the pitch adjustment member limits the backward movement of the movable rail.
