PURPOSE: A broadcasting service method using a forward packet data channel in a wireless communication system is provided to control the frequency of retransmission of broadcasting packet data in a base station by feeding back a receiving performance of a terminal, and to transmit Walsh mask information to the terminal as an overhead message, thereby preventing a service from being temporarily disconnected. CONSTITUTION: An MS(Mobile Station) sets a PPP(Point-to-Point Protocol) connection for a data service with a BS(Base Station) by using an SO 33(Service Option 33) function(200). The MS receives a BSPM(Broadcast Service Parameter Message), and obtains information on a forward traffic channel(210). The MS transmits a registration message to the BS through an access channel at the request of a user(220). The MS starts to receive broadcasting traffic and control information from the BS according to channel information of an FBPDCH included in the BSPM through an F-PDCCH(Forward packet Data Control Channel) and an F-PDCH(Forward Packet Data Channel)(230,240).
