PURPOSE: An apparatus for grinding the end surface of galvanized sheet iron is provided to prevent safety accident by quickly removing a zinc galvanizing layer from the end of the sheet iron. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for grinding the end surface of galvanized sheet iron is composed of a sensor for detecting the front end of the sheet iron(S), support members(20) installed at the rear of the sensor, a pair of brush rolls(40) rotatably installed between the support members, a space control cylinder(30), and a driving motor(42). A plurality of brushes are formed at the surface of the brush roll. The space control cylinder is connected to a central shaft(41) of the brush roll, and controls a space between the brush rolls. The driving motor is connected to the brush roll by a chain(43), and rotates the brush roll. A hood(50) encloses the outer circumference of the brush roll, and collects dust. A suction hose(51) is connected to one side of the hood. A suction motor(52) is connected to the suction hose, and generates suction force.
