POLICY BASED NMS USING XML AND POLICY BASED NETWORK MANAGEMENT METHOD USING THE SAME

摘要

PURPOSE: A policy based NMS(Network Management System) using the XML(eXtensible Markup Language) and a policy based network management method using the same are provided to configure/manage policy information and add a new policy class by using the XML. CONSTITUTION: A template and the policy information for the XML are stored in a database. If a manager requests search for the template and the policy information, the template and the policy information are loaded from the database(S504). A new policy is written by using the template and the policy information, and is converted into configuration information applicable to a device(S510). As the converted configuration information is transferred to a client and the policy is transferred to a policy information basis, a new policy instance is installed and the policy is managed(S516).
