A Composition for Preventing and Treating an Injury of Gastric Mucous Membrane Induced by Salicylate Derivatives Comprising Decursinol

PURPOSE: A composition containing decursinol obtained from and an extract of Angelicae Gigantis Radix is provided which can effectively inhibit the gastric mucosa damage caused by analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents of salicylate derivatives when administered with salicylate derivatives. CONSTITUTION: The composition contains decursinol(7-hydroxy-8,8-dihydro-6H-pyrano(3,2-) chromene-2-one) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof such as aspirin. The decursinol can be obtained by extracting Angelicae Gigantis Radix and then purifying. The composition is orally or non-orally administered into mammals containing a human being at a daily dose of 0.5 to 100mg/kg, preferably 0.5 to 50mg/kg.
