PURPOSE: A CRT flat panel forming apparatus and the CRT flat panel formed by using the same are provided to achieve improved efficiency of grinding process by preventing distortion, while maintaining a predetermined balance. CONSTITUTION: A CRT flat panel forming apparatus comprises a lower mold(70) having an accommodation portion for accommodating a glass gob, and a plunger(50) arranged to be movable in a vertical direction with respect to the lower mold, and which has a press plane(51) for forming a flat panel(10) by pressing the glass gob accommodated in the accommodation portion. At least one of a bottom surface of the accommodation portion and the press plane of the plunger has a curvature which is curved upward with respect to the horizontal surface. The plunger has a cooling fluid distribution space(53) which is recessed toward the press plane, such that the press plane is cooled while avoiding fusion of the flat panel to the press plane of the plunger.
