PURPOSE: A CRT flat panel forming apparatus and the CRT flat panel formed by using the same is provided to achieve improved efficiency of grinding process by suppressing distortion and bending of the flat panel. CONSTITUTION: A CRT flat panel forming apparatus comprises a lower mold(70) having an accommodation portion for accommodating a glass gob; and a plunger(50) arranged to be movable in a vertical direction with respect to the lower mold, in such a manner that the plunger presses the glass gob accommodated in the accommodation portion of the lower mold so as to form a flat panel(10). The accommodation portion has a side wall which is inclined to have an obtuse angle with respect to the bottom surface of the accommodation portion. The tilt of the accommodation portion ranges 0.1 to 10 degrees with respect to the vertical axial line.
