PURPOSE: Provided are a reactor and a method for manufacturing TiO2/SiO2 composite particle by using gas phase hydrolysis reaction. CONSTITUTION: The reactor comprises a first tube(10) with an insertion hole(11) which is connected to two reaction material insertion tubes(17,19) at one end, a nozzle(13) at the other end, and a shaft neck at the middle portion thereof; a second tube(20) with an insertion hole(21) which is connected to a reaction material insertion hole(27) at one end, a nozzle(23) at the other end, and a shaft neck(25) at the middle portion thereof, wherein the second tube(20) has a smaller diameter than the first tube(10) and installed to be inserted into the first tube(10); a third tube(30) with an insertion hole(31) which is connected to a reaction material insertion hole at one end, a nozzle(33) at the other end, and a shaft neck at the middle portion thereof, wherein the third tube(30) has a smaller diameter than the second tube(20) and inserted into the second tube(20), wherein the nozzle(23) of the second tube(20) is placed inside of a throat(15) of the first tube(10), and the nozzle(33) of the third tube(30) is placed inside of a throat(25) of the second tube(20). The method comprises the steps of maintaining temperature of a reactor to 350-950C heating the reactor using an electric furnace; introducing nitrogen gas passing out silica gel, thereby maintaining inside the reactor in inert ambient; and inputting H2O spray droplets, TTIP spray droplets and TEOS droplets through the reaction material insertion hole(31) of the third tube(30), the reaction material insertion hole(27) of the second tube(20), and one reaction material insertion tube(19) of the first tube(10), respectively, to manufacture TiO2 core-SiO2 shell particles, inputting H2O spray droplets, TEOS spray droplets and TTIP spray droplets through the reaction material insertion hole(31) of the third tube(30), the reaction material insertion hole(27) of the second tube(20), and one reaction material insertion tube(19) of the first tube(10), respectively, when to manufacture SiO2 core-TiO2 shell particles, or inputting H2O spray droplets, TEOS spray droplets and TTIP droplets through the reaction material insertion hole(31) of the third tube(30), one reaction material insertion tube(19) of the first tube(10), and the other reaction material insertion tube(17) of the first tube(17), respectively, when to manufacture TiO2-SiO2 mixture particles.
