Extracts of pomegranate for stoping the hair from falling out and composition of cosmetics containing the extracts of pomegranate

PURPOSE: Provided are an extract of pomegranate for preventing depilation and a cosmetic composition containing the same. The extract of pomegranate inhibits 5 alpha-reductase without any adverse effect. CONSTITUTION: An extract of pomegranate for preventing depilation is prepared by extracting pomegranate with at least one of solvent selected from water, ethanol, propyleneglycol, butyleneglycol or a mixture thereof, and shows inhibition effect on 5 alpha reductase. A cosmetic composition contains 0.001-5.0 wt.% of the extract of pomegranate and the balance of conventional cosmetic base.
