A transfer device (20) for leaflet (1) is arranged between a prospectus and university (15) and a brochure transport device (13) arranged. The transfer device (20) has two pairs (21, 24), each with two conveyor belts (22, 23, 25, 26) on. In order to prevent a discharging faulty leaflet (1), it is proposed according to the invention, two of the conveyor belts (23, 26) by means of a lever (43) to arrange such that it can be pivoted, in order to provide an alternative conveying path (50) to be in the form of the faulty leaflet (1) in a waste container (46) transfers. The inventive transfer device (20) makes possible a premature precipitation of defective leaflet (1) from a cartoning machine (10).
