Fly-ash blinded catalysts are immersed in a treatment liquid, and subjected to low frequency vibration, preferably in the range 0.1-1 kHz. The catalyst may be vibrated by direct attachment to the vibrator, which is preferably of the electromagnetic or rotated eccentric load type.
