The keypad (3) has paint applied directly to the rear side of a transparent front plate (1) to form the keypad lettering. An adhesive layer (5) is arranged on the paint, and a structured conductive track layer (7) comprising sensor electrodes (8) is adhered to it. The track layer is connected to electrical components (20) and/or connectors (22) of the capacitive circuit. An independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing a capacitive keypad.
