The method involves pre-distributing locally keys before providing keys to a service connection of a programme supplier for purchase by a connection and decoding unit of a receiver (4). The keys generated on a server (2) of the programme supplier are transmitted to several local key distribution arrangements and stored for the purchase of the key before the key changes on the server. An independent claim is also provided for an arrangement that carries out the determination method.
