Method for setting the torque acting on a motor vehicle steering wheel, whereby the torque is set using a controllable torque actuator, dependent on the vehicle driving conditions. From measured values a roll tendency for the vehicle is determined and the torque applied to the steering wheel is set accordingly. The invention also relates to a corresponding motor vehicle with a torque actuator for setting the torque to be applied by a steering wheel.
