Printing block magazine (38, 39) comprises at least one shaft (41, 42) receiving at least one printing block (36, 37) to be removed from a printing cylinder (31, 33) of a printing machine. The printing block magazine has at least one lateral entrance for withdrawing the printing block from the shaft and arranged parallel to the direction of a print material (46) guided in the printing machine. A conveying device provided in the shaft transports the printing block over its length into the shaft. An ejector arranged in the printing block magazine transports the printing block completely inserted in the shaft at least so far out of the lateral entrance to the shaft that the printing block can be grasped during continuous production without entering the shaft.
