A Western saying has it that "Printing, the mother of progress". Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founder of China’s modern democracy, noted in The Plan for Industrial Development that printing is one of the five major industries affecting people’s well-being, as important to their life as food, clothing, housing and transportation.
