A chemical sensor for phosphate determination with an ionphore selective membrane of given formula at a concentration of 1-65 wt.% in combination with adjuvants, e.g. a plasticizer is new. A chemical sensor for phosphate determination with an ionphore selective membrane of formula (I): n = 1-100, preferably 1-20 at a concentration of 1-65 wt.% in combination with adjuvants, e.g. a plasticizer. An Independent claim is included for a process for preparation of the sensor in which the starting materials for preparation of the ion selective membrane (3), i.e. the ionophore component, dibutylsebacid acid ester and PVC are dissolved in tetrahydrofuran, so that (sic) the sensor body containing a stabilized lattice network, positioned in a suitable form, is added as a not yet reacted mixture, and the sensor head containing the ion solution and electrode 2, after complete reaction of the starting materials, optionally after solvent dilution, is screwed onto the sensor shaft.
