Process to stimulate a solid sample for analysis involves exposing the sample to an ion beam emitter comprising two concentric tubes made of a non-electrically-conducting material, preferably quartz glass. The ion beam is emitted with the assistance of a generator for high-frequency voltages and current. An Independent claim is included for an assembly for use in the above process.
