A method for bonding or welding optical components of different cross-sectional surfaces, involves preparing a first optical component (1) with the smaller cross-section and preparing a second optical component with comparatively greater cross-section. A first zone (3) is generated on the second optical component (2) with a cross-section matched and clearly reduced cross-section compared to the first component (1) for forming a point of connection on the second optical component (2) and welding or bonding the first component (1) with this connection point (5) of the second optical component (2).
