The method involves optically digitalizing a gas turbine component for providing optical three-dimensional (3D) digitization data. The geometrical data of the component is determined by virtual sensing of the component based on the optical digitization data and a virtual coordinate measuring system. A virtual ball holder and a virtual moving track are oriented during the virtual sensing of the optical digitalization data.
