The ridge element has two side arms (14) connected on the top by a crest (16). Each side arm has a flat water reservoir element (18) which is combined on the inside surface with a flat elastic plastics element (24) and on the outside surface with a water-permeable cover element (30) of copper plate. The cover element, water reservoir element and flat elastic surface element are connected together to form the copper ridge. The copper plate of the water reservoir element is perforated. To increase the surface area the copper plate can be ribbed.
