The device has a light source, a rotatable arrangement for emitting the beam from the source to a measurement object that reflects the beam and a mirror rotatable in synchronism with the emission arrangement for receiving the reflected beam. The mirror is inclined in a rotor at preferably 45 degrees. The rotor consists at least partly of transparent material and multiple parts. The mirror is in the form of mirroring on a surface of a rotor part. The device has a light source (120) for producing a transmission beam (124), an arrangement rotatable about at least one axis (122) for emitting the beam to a measurement object that reflects the beam and a mirror (111) rotatable in synchronism with the emission arrangement for receiving the reflected beam (126), whereby the mirror is inclined in a rotor at preferably 45 degrees to the first axis. The rotor consists at least partly of transparent material and multiple parts and the mirror is in the form of mirroring on a surface of a rotor part.
