The system has a steel guide barrier next to a road connected to displaceable transverse slide rails that can be displaced relative to a fixed guide against an increasing resistance and pivot to a limited extent relative to the fixed guide. The slide rail is wedge-shaped in plan view for mounting on a bridge cap and the fixed guide has guide strips accepting slide rails between them and for attachment to the bridge cap with a joining cover rail. The system has a guide barrier of steel next to a road connected to displaceable transverse slide rails (23) that can be displaced relative to a fixed forced guide (31) against an increasing resistance and pivot to a limited extent relative to the fixed guide. The slide rail is wedge-shaped in plan view for mounting on a bridge cap of a bridge structure and the fixed guide has guide strips (32) accepting the slide rail between them and for attachment to the bridge cap with a joining cover rail (33).
