Office chair with pivoted backrest support and synchronous mechanism for adjustment of seat position simultaneous with adjustment of backrest

The office chair has a seat shell (8), a seat carrier (6) and a backrest support (12) which is coupled to both the seat shell and the seat carrier, a synchronous mechanism provided by a first pivot bearing (D1) between the front of the seat shell and the seat carrier and a second pivot bearing (D2) between the rear of the seat shell and the backrest support. The coupling between the backrest support and the seat carrier is provided via a tension cable (22), extending between fixing points (P1,P2) provided by the seat carrier and the backrest support and passed around a deflection pin (24) at the rear end of the seat shell. An Independent claim for a modular chair concept is also included.
