The mechanism is connected to a chair column base carrier (1), a seat support (3) and a backrest carrier (4). A tiltable backrest carrier is arranged around a transverse axis with the base carrier and on a rear part (12) of the seat support it is directly articulated and connected so that lagging(s) of the backrest induces a raising movement (H1) of the rear of the seat support. The seat support is connected with the base carrier such that at the same time a raising movement (H2) of the front part of the seat support takes place. The carrier is connected with the seat support by a guide (18).
