Process for aligning individual moving sheet-like printed materials (1) using state parameters such as incoming angle, outgoing angle, incoming speed, outgoing speed, X shift and Y shift comprises taking the printed material from a first transport unit (15) using a first and a second frictional wheel (A, B) each having its own independent drive (11, 12), continually rotating the printed material in a first phase in a first direction of rotation using orientation functions of the angular velocity of the first and the second friction wheels, continually rotating the printed material in a second phase in a second direction of rotation opposite to the first direction of rotation using orientation functions of the angular velocity of the first and the second friction wheels, and transferring the printed material to a second transport unit (16). An independent claim is also included for a device (100) used for aligning sheet-like printed materials. Preferred Features: The control functions are determined for each individual sheet-like printed material.
