The one-handed device for wet glue labelling has two plastic plates (1) on hinges (8) screwed to a device mounting of flat steel. The plastic plates are 120mm long, 55mm wide and 3mm deep, one mounting (4) is 190mm long, 35mm wide, and 4mm deep, and the other mounting (5) is 220mm long, 35mm wide and 4mm deep. An extension spring (3) is provided to pull back the plastic plates, and is fastened on the respective plastic plates and mounting.
