The self-adhesive retro-reflecting number plate (1) consists of a base component made of aluminum alloy which together with a self-adhesive reflective film (3) located on the surface (2') has a material thickness of 0.4 to 1.0mm. The base component on its rear face has a double-sided adhesive film with one adhesive surface firmly stuck on the rear face of the base component and the other adhesive surface covered by a protective film. The base component after embossing and painting of the border (4) and number (5), and after removing the protective film, is fixed on the appointed positions of a motor vehicle or its trailer.
