HORIZONTAL AXIS TYPE REACTOR FOR CONTAINING A LIQUID EFFLUENT TO ENABLE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CHEMICAL REACTION THEREOF

A horizontal reactor, comprising an agitator comprising a cradle inside the reactor, with a support to which bacteria in the effluent can adhere, is new. The support has a honeycomb structure. The cradle is immersed in the effluent, and reduces its oxygenation. It is connected to a drive that allows it to travel in a reciprocating movement. A reactor (100), with a horizontal axis and for containing a liquid effluent (E) prior to conducting a chemical reaction, comprising an agitator comprising a cradle (210) inside the reactor, with a support to which bacteria in the effluent can adhere, is new. The support is parallelepiped in shape, and is made from stacked corrugated sheets giving a honeycomb structure, in a metal frame. The height of the cradle is such that it is immersed in the effluent, and reduces its oxygenation. The cradle is connected to a drive (250) in the form of a two-way power cylinder or rotating screw that allows it to travel in a reciprocating movement at a speed of 5 - 50 cm/sec in a volume equivalent to that occupied by the effluent. Moving through the effluent, the bacteria produce methane gas, carbon dioxide and a residual effluent that can be used as fertilizer.
