This report revises the original issuance of NUREG-0017, 'Calculation of Releases of Radioactive Materials in Gaseous and Liquid Effluents from Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR-GALE Code)' (April 1976), to incorporate more recent operating data now available as well as the results of a number of in-plant measurement programs at operating pressurized water reactors. The PWR-GALE Code is a computerized mathematical model for calculating the releases of radioactive material in gaseous and liquid effluents (i.e., the gaseous and liquid source terms). The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission uses the PWR-GALE Code to determine conformance with requirements of Appendix I to 10 CFR Part 50.
