In the first phase of environmental testing (1), the case is subjected to temperature cycling. The temperature is held at Tmin for an interval, increased for an interval, held at Tmax for an interval and finally the temperature is decreased for an interval, making four stages in all. In a second phase (2), the case is placed in a pollutant mist containing ions. Their nature and quantity is controlled. In a third phase (3), a series of cycles is included, in which the case is immersed in an atmosphere of variable temperature and humidity.
