Method for calibrating the zero of an apparatus which determines by a colorimetric method the quantity of silica contained in a sample of silica solution to be analyzed: this colorimetric method consists in introducing into said sample, successively, a molybdate solution, a developer and a reagent. To determine this zero, said developer is introduced into this sample, said developer, then said molybdate solution and finally said reducing agent.
