The method of navigation for remote searching, on a portable wireless computing device, of an electronic document stored as a file having a file address on a computer network, comprises the steps in which: - one uses a barcode scanner incorporated in the device for scanning a barcode label containing information identifying the address of the file - the file address is decoded from the scan result - the network file is accessed sending the file address via a wireless communication channel connecting the device to the computer network; and- displaying the accessed file on a visual embedded in the device.
