The plasma generator has an annular reaction chamber (2) with annular electrodes (3). A controllable injection nozzle (8) is tangential to the chamber. The pressure differential between gas in the chamber and in the injector is regulated. Ejection (6) of gas from the reaction chamber sets the gas in reaction chamber in rotation, and the speed can be controlled by the rate of ejection.
